Default 12 Volt outlets

My 997-2 has two 12 v outlets. Both worked until recently. The one in the console stopped working but the one on the pax side footwell is working. As far as I can tell there is one fuse for both so it should not be a blown fuse. The last time I pushed in the cigarette lighter in the console outlet it popped out before it heated. Any ideas on how to fix?

I am pretty sure they are on separate fuses, because I popped the footwell one with my air compressor and read that you’re supposed to use the center console one for air compressors.

Check your fuses.

There are two fuses. Both are hot with the ignition on or off. Heavy loads or battery tenders should use the center plug that has a larger fuse than the passenger foot well.

Default Where

I only have the small manual in fuse box that only shows one fuse. Any help on the fuse number?

Have you checked the A10 (cigarette lighter) fuse? The cig lighter and console 12V plug are only 3 inches apart, so maybe they share that circuit and fuse. Fuse A10 is 15A and A8 (foot well plug) is 7.5A,

References are from my 2011 GTS fuse assignment list.

The outlet in the passenger footwell and the outlet under the ashtray door are constant power all the time and the ones battery maintainers should be plugged into. I imagine they are on the same fuse. The one inside the center console has a lower fuse rating and is switched power so cannot be used for a battery maintainer. It may seem like it's constant power because it remains active when the car is turned off, but it shuts down either with the doors locked, a time delay, or when the car enters sleep mode. That one is likely on a different fuse.
