Default Seat memory not working?

Maybe I am just doing this wrong...

The owner's manual indicated that to set the seat memory I hold the "M" button, then push the "1", "2", or "3" buttons until I hear an audible beep

I do that... I never get an audible beep after many seconds holding the buttons.

The seat settings never store and the seat always returns to an absurd position when I unlock the car.

Any thoughts?

Hmm... should not do that. Try using your other key.

My seat memory has always been wonky in that the seat never returns to the memory setting... I have to press the buttons on the door. Not your issue, but, try another key. I get different behaviours with the other.

Peace

Audible beep is not mentioned in MK1-manual and never heard (and expected) one. Maybe MK2 ist different.

My 997.1 manual does not mention a beep. I also dont have the #1 key, only the #2 Key, but like poster, its been fruitless to get my seat to engage Memory...sort of like the owner...lol

I’d say on mine, I press the M button and then hold the 1 button. But I’m sure you tried that. 997.1 TT and I don’t get a beep.

Interesting topic. Since I've owned it, my .1 memory works pretty well... except for the 'standard' position into which the lumbar support returns after each drive. It seems to like to be in an upper position and inflated at least 50%. I have to manual move it down every time I start up.

would also like a solve on the lumbar, it seems random sometimes inflating, other times it does not. does the ignition need to be in a certain position for the programming to work?

I just replied to a thread the other day on mirror memory experiencing the same issue . This was my reply after much research and frustration on this issue. Having said this my car is a .1 which Foxwell works very well on ...better than a .2 or my Cayenne .

Programming as such is not a perfect science on the 997 - and since my 2006 C4s did not come equipped with the key programming module on the drivers door (for whatever reason ?? go figure ? ) I found that the best and only way I can program the seat and mirrors to my liking without having to go to the dealer every time for programming would be by using my Foxwell NT520...... I can set key 1 &2 the way I want them and my memory preferences are stored permanently.
