Default Any solution for “floppy” AC Vents?

Good afternoon - in my 997.1, 2 of my 4 AC vents will not stay in place, AT ALL. It is an annoying little thing to me, and I refuse to use the old trick of sticking a gum wrapper or piece of cardboard in the side to keep them from flopping around.

I did a search and didn’t ring anything except how to change out the vents.

So does anyone have this issue? Any fix besides replacing the entire unit?

thanks!

Sorry not to be able to offer an immediate solution, but my only idea would be a removal and check for defect or a rework of the adjustment mechanism. This is the first time that I read about problem here. That's why I think there could be a defect. Mine are almost 20 years old and very tight. New ones are quite expensive, thats why you should try a repair attempt.

Same with vents on both sides (only one bracket)

Did you manage to repair/find the failure? Would be kind to have your feedback....
