Porsche 997 Coolant Leak AOS - Different Pipe Layout Different?
Hi All. I have a 2006 Porsche 997.1 C2 with a coolant leak dripping on the coolant metal pipe (red arrow) next to the chain tensioner under the left cylinder head. I think its the from the coolant hose on the AOS, similar to Crixer's issue (https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...y-ideas-2.html). Im finding it hard to access/view the AOS from the bottom, but notice my pipe layout (red rectangle) is different to Crixer's layout (green rectangle). My pipe goes under and up the left cylinder head, where Crixer's pipe turns right and goes across the cylinder block. Does anyone know why they are different? I think it maybe because with my 997.1 C2 the AOS is on the left side, where as the 997.1 C2S and above the AOS is on the right side. But Ive seen same models as mine with the other pipe layout (green rectangle). Thanks for your help

The 997 C2 uses an M96 coded engine. I believe it may be because the AOS location was there on the 996 cars and changed with the M97 engine, not necessarily with the 997 cars.
Thanks for the advice I didnt realise to check that. I found the engine serial number and my 997 does have M96 engine, which confirms the AOS is on left side.
