Default Is this what scored brakes look like?

Should I be worried about my brake discs on my 2011 997.2 Carrera?

Are these scoring marks?

I would say those are done.
have them measured and see if they are beyond the minimum thickness

The thickness of your disks is relevant, the wear is allowed to be 1mm per side, that means -2mm per disk referring to genuine thickness. Typical is 32mm front and 26mm rear when new. Should be stamped in hub.

You'll see there are divets drilled part way into each disk along the outer edges. If I recall correctly these are in 6 places. Your disk is worn out when you can't see these anymore (mirror required for back side). Your divets are clearly visible. You have a lot more wear to go. As for the lines ... normal IMHO.

There is no scoring I can see. You discs are fine.

Thanks so much everyone. I came across this thread this morning, from a UK Porsche enthusiast site talking about the same wavy
pattern on the discs. Seems like it’s “normal”. That there’s somehow more wear where there’s holes since there’s less metal to brake pad contact, so it ends up being uneven?

Also ... Dust and dirt gets between the pads and the rotors during normal use creating grooves. It's just what it is. Call it patina if you'd like.

I don’t know brakes, but I have learned as a new 997 owner that the center cap alignment is critical in regards to all performance measures. You may want to get those correctly positioned for optimal performance and enthusiast acceptance. 😃

^^ Yes, ParkerCO is correct. The bottom tip of the shield should always be pointing towards Stuttgart. Must be repositioned every time you park the car. It's in the manual.
