PCM Delete

To clarify, are you looking to delete the entire headunit and then somehow be able to play audio? Or are you looking to remove the factory PCM and then add an aftermarket unit. The former is not possible to my knowledge. The latter is possible.

Doable - there are Bluetooth amplifiers that will allow you to do this, I don't know of anyone doing this in a 997 but there are solutions out there.

When i bought my 997 in 2014, the first thing i did was replace the pcm with an aftermarket unit and a MOST adapter. Sound quality post-install was massively improved (i had no idea bose speakers could sound so good). Wetsounds makes great equipment and I like the idea of the clean look (where it's just a ****). Curious how this goes.... good luck

============
bluetooth audio receiver with an analog audio out (may potentially need a 2.5"-> red+white audio Y splitter cable) -> analog audio input of most-hur receiver -> oem most audio interface.
things to look out for that i can think of
1) the most-hur audio device will need to be power switched on, which is normally piggy backed off the PCM antenna amp when the pcm is switched on. since the pcm will be removed, you will need to tap into another power source for this (directly from a switched fuse - id look up use one of the ones that are normally used for radar detectors/ dashcams). a similar power solution will be 100% required to power the blueTooth reciever itself. may as well also tap from fuse box.
2) as always make before the oem pcm is unplugged to turn up the volume to about 70%. hopefully this is enough to where the audio from the phone is clear, but with minimal distortion. the gain of the bluetooth adapter itself (if such function exists) will have to be experimented with to find the sweet spot to get best sound, but with minimal distortion
3) turning the oem amp on, this one im going to guess you may have to reRoute the oem amp (bose or otherwise) so it turns on from one of the switched fuses - and not from the canbus input from the pcm (i believe this is how it turns on currently)

I believe to amp turns on with a MOST signal as people who have gone to aftermarket head units have not had to change the amp power connections as far as I am aware....
