I would imagine your burn rate is very high.
So thankful for this forum. My new-to-me 2009 997.2 is consuming 1/2 a quart every 300 miles. Seemed excessive to me until I found this. Car is running fine otherwise so feel relief reading this. Off to stock up on oil 🙄

In case you haven't seen the thread yet but a RL member took European delivery of a brand new 2006 997S cab. That car burned a quart of oil just over 600 miles right out of the factory He was obviously asking Porsche about this and was told that he was just fine with Porsche's oil consumption tolerance being no more than one quart per 600 miles. Even for a new car.

Last I heard this member had almost 100,000 miles on that car with the same oil burn and no issues. Oil burn seems to be all over the map on 997's. My 2006 C4S used no oil at all or very minimal. My 2009 C4S has been the worst so far going through a quart every 1,000 miles. Haven't kept exact scores but my current GTS seems to use around a quart every 2,500 miles.
