Dave--is there a video anywhere of your headers, performance cats and the stock 997.1 mufflers? I'd like a little more sound than the stock setup, but I also like the small performance gains out of the cats.
We had 997.1 in last week getting some new goodies. I'll check on the details of what when onto that car, I know it left with stock side mufflers.

I have our X-Pipe, gundo-hacked side mufflers and will be adding our sport headers soon. The Gundo and X-Pipe is a good alternative and the performance gains for the 997's (997.2) are in the headers and cats anyhow. On the .1's it's going with high-flow cat sections and headers.
My .02.

how much a difference is there in the sport cats and the bypass cat pipes.
[QUOTE=misterdega;18105881]Here is the soul exhaust on my car vs the gundo hack.
That is a great video and reference!! Thanks for doing that. With my weak computer speakers - the Soul has a higher pitch, which I think is great. Is that your observation also?
Are the Soul mufflers overall louder? That is what I am looking for, a bit more presence.

Yea I would say that at all rpms the Soul has more presence. The Gundo basically is silent below 4k RPMs.
I definitely like the Soul much better. And of course, in person is the way to experience it.
UPDATE - I spoke with John at Soul and decided to purchase the mufflers. I am now waiting for him to build, ship, and then for me to get them installed! I will let you know!

The muffler quality is outstanding. No complaints but one thing to notice is once the mufflers are installed, "Soul" on muffler body is upside down. Doesn't make a difference to me - just a quirk I noticed.
Install Time - for those unsure if they can do this, fear not! This is a very straight forward job. Biggest pain are the clamp bolts between muffler and center pipe. Plan on cutting them off and everything else is pretty simple.
I know this has been talked about a million times, nevertheless, my advice is to take off the bumper and heat shields. It is so easy and takes about an extra 10 minutes. Seems to me, it would take longer trying to get the two rearmost bolts off with bumper on. Not worth it to me - take bumper off.
I started the car and the mufflers sound really good. Much louder than my Fisters. Also, the tone has changed. I am painting the barrels of my wheels and once that project is done; I will take her for a drive and properly compare the two cans. My first impression just reving the motor is this is the increase in volume and tone I was looking for! Very pleased!
