Default FVD Brombacher | Part Focus | 997 | Performance Water Pump Kit

This kit includes a high flow water pump with up to 50% more output and less parasitic loss than a genuine pump. We also included a thermostat that opens earlier and a Motorsport Belt that has been proven in CUP Series Cars. These components exceed traditional cooling system demands and are ideal for higher performance engines or for those concerned with keeping the water temperature lower for engine reliability.

Features:
Revised Larger Diameter Impeller and Impeller Entry
Higher Water Flow
Improved Cooling
Lower Temperatures
Reinforced Motorsport Belt
Includes Necessary Gaskets for Installation

997.1 Performance Water Pump Kit | Part # FVD 106 997 20 | Details…

Rhonda, is the pump impeller metal or a composite? How does it pump more volume? Is the pulley smaller so it spins the impeller faster and if so is the included belt shorter to account for this, or is the impeller a different design/shape that moves more fluid per revolution compared to the OEM pump?

The OP indicates that the kit is for 997.1 models, how about a kit for those of us that have 997.2?

Also Petza914's question concerning the impeller material is spot on. A metal impeller failure, as in coming apart, would cause catastrophic consequences as metal shards would circulate throughout the engine causing all sorts of problems ($$$!!).

The pump impeller is composite and is a larger 66.5 mm diameter with a different design and shape.

Correct, this is for the 997.1 generation. I will check with FVD Germany for you on the 997.2 and will be back to you as quickly as I can.

You mentioned that the belt has been proven in Cup cars. What about the water pump? How long has it been in use, in what settings, and results? Thanks for the timely post, I am ready to change mine out.

6 years will work, but can’t promise that I will be here afterwards, I maybe retired by then.

We source the pump from a GT water pump supplier to Porsche in Germany. The pump design has been proven on GT3’s and GT2’s.

How does the thermostat compare to other low temperature thermostats that start to open at 160F and fully open at 180F?

Does the water pump require a different length belt, resulting in the motorsport belt? Or is the motorsport belt beefed up, but the same length? Thinking about this because it would have to be noted for future maintenance. Thanks!

We source our thermostat in Germany and it opens at 160 F and fully opens at 180 F. The belt is the same length just beefed up.

If you plan to purchase this from us, be sure to reach out to me directly so that I can apply the latest promotional pricing.
