I am having a problem aiming my key fob as of late. I have changed my battery but every now and then it won’t unlock the car and I have to move the key around to get it to unlock. Where is the sensor on the car?
I don't know the answer to the question as to where the sensor is.
But my range USED to be about 20 to 25 feet.
Then I installed an anti- theft device and now my range is like 5 feet from the driver front and like 2 feet on the passenger back.
I had this issue with my Mercedes suv fob and I cleaned up the battery contacts and bent the contacts out slightly so the battery fits tighter and this resolved my issue.
This is going to sound really crazy but trust me...
Next time you're a bit away from your car and use the fob to try and unlock the car and it won't reach, take the key / fob and place it under your chin and try it again.
The key / fob signal uses your cranium to magnify the signal and reach further.
Just try it. I've been doing it since the early 90's or before.

And your opposite leg up off the ground. Yelling loudly combined with the arm and leg up, also increases the distance. Especially in a busy Target or grocery store parking lot. If it doesn't make a difference, keep trying.
The further you stick key up your nose the greater the range.
PS: I agree Big Swole, been doing it since 90’s. Thought it was bs, but tested it at golf course parking lot and it literally doubled range. Does nothing for golf swing however.
