Quick Oil Change Question
#16
Mess free plug removal is beyond the capabilities of mortal man. It is just a matter of how much runs down your arm. This is the important part of whether you like cold oil or warm oil running down your arm. I like warm oil, it just seems the right thing to do. I have been doing this for 60+ years. The new fangled top load oil filter housings do take some of the adventure out of that process ( not new fangled, my 1940 Ford has the same set up). The pull out spout on the German oils like LiquiMoly takes all the fun out of refilling with the new oil. You can't spill a drop if you do it right.
Make sure you put the drain plug back in!

What I love about oil change threads is that so few of us posters have any real science... just reasoning based on assumptions. That is OK, that is part of the entertainment here and I sure am entertained by all of us but mostly my own neurosis.
