Default Centercaps?

Picked these wheels up from the marketplace. What are your thoughts on these centercaps? Not sure I like the contrasting color.

I’m waiting on spacers from suncoast (for rear) Will be mounting soon.

Nice wheels.

The contracting color center caps would not be my choice.

I also don't like the contrast. Are they genuine Porsche caps or Chinese replicas? If cheap replicas, I'd be tempted to try and mask off the Porsche logo and spray the background to a matching silver.

I have Chinese knockoffs and painted them almost the same gunmetal color of your wheels. It was easy to paint them, but very difficult to get a color match. Eventually came close, but not exact. I keep meaning to look and see if there are genuine caps would match, but I still haven't.

There are lots of knockoffs on ebay of varying shades of gray - one of which will likely be a closer match. This is what I ended up doing.

Try searching for SKU9970446 to get the correct ones! (Assuming those are stock colors on the wheels)

Nope don't look good ... OEM center caps are easy to source ....ebay is a good place for them and don't get hosed for them , around $100 for a mint set of four is a fair price . Picked up 2 sets colored and 2 sets for my Cayenne also from there .

I have one set of non-Genuine OEM ones for sale that are black with color crests and brand new. Price is $65 shipped.

If you want a less expensive set to play with masking off the crests and spray painting a matching grey color and not risk messing up genuine caps, which you could resell.

Crests have plastic film on them that make them look dull

Once the film is removed they look like this

I've purchased two sets from this Forum Member/Vendor and couldn't be happier.

The gunmetal color caps perfectly match my wheel color. He's also a good guy, very responsive to any inquiries and offers quick delivery. Hey, for $60 for a full set is hard to beat plus he throws in a free key fob!

Here's the link to his "store": https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1...=center%20caps

thanks for feedback. Seems pretty universal that contrasting caps are a no go. That was my thought too.

Wheels were refinished when I purchased them. Look a bit darker than factory color to me but not positive. I’m not sure if there is an off the shelf color cap that will match or if I’ll need to get caps painted.

This may be worth checking into...

Gloss finish. I don't know if the gray color is a match for your wheels however...

I think everyone is way over thinking this - take picture of wheel to local hobby store. Match as close as you can with Testors enamel paint. Paint cap, spray with clear gloss. Lasts for years. I've done it and you cannot tell that they were not factory painted. Match is perfect. Your cost? About $5 plus some time. BTW, time spent in a quality hobby store is never time wasted.

The knock offs I purchased had a thin plastic film over the top, which I peeled off, then applied a clear coat. They have held up great, 3 years and counting.
