I've just started to notice some minor little squeaks starting to become audible as the car rolls/bumps/jiggles over small irregularities. They're high-pitched and not loud.
Where should I start my exploration for the likely sources of these noises?
sway bar bushings?
I just took my front pan off and it's a real pain if you don't have access to a lift.
Much easier to take off each front wheel and look around. What are you looking for? Who knows...
My advice would be to get some white lithium spray grease and hit any joint that looks like it might move, along with inside the top of the coilovers in the wheel wells.
(obviously avoid your brakes - calipers/rotors)
It worked for me - I had some creaking, mostly from the rear, and some clicking at front driver side - like from the shock tower.
Maybe someone here will say it's a dumb idea, for one reason or another - might want to pause for that.
I did replace my rear sway bar bushing - which was super easy - but I see you said your issue is in the front. Even with the pan off, it looks like replacing the front bushings is a huge PITA
Here's what I used for the grease:
I agree with Jack. Take a look at all the moving parts around the suspension/arms/bars/etc and if nothing looks obviously worn, use some grease. I really like the WD-40 specialist line. The white lithium and silicone work really well.

I have a regular Carrera, not a 4.
Had same in my 997.2. It was drivers side front strut mount bearing. Check with a stethoscope near bearing while assistant turns steering wheel and bounce car at shock. Best wishes.

^^^ With this one, sometimes oddly, your car needs to "heat up." I know that sounds absurd but I would have total silence for the first 15-30 minutes of driving and then get some rattle and etc. I didn't have the WD40 stuff mentioned above but I had chain lube for bikes and just put that in my strut mounts. Sound gone. half hour drive...sound gone...1 hour drive...sound gone... etc. Sadly, this took me WAAAAY too long to figure out.
Thank you guys.
I expect the car to be entering that phase where I'll have to start chasing replacing bushings, etc due to age.
I'll check first for what needs lubrication, as suggested.
