997 Engine Replacement - Recommendations - Southern CA or elsewhere

i have a 2007 997 with a lot of sentimental value that unfortunately needs a new engine. the car was my fathers and just after he passed the 'ticking sound' started and got loud quickly. i took the car to a shop in seattle and they said it would unfortunately need a new engine and they wouldn't be able to get to it for quite a while. around this time, my mother was moving to palm desert and i was getting ready to move out of seattle as well, so i shipped the car to her new house in palm desert.
Question
does anyone have recommendations in southern california/palm desert for 997 engine replacements? or if there are recommendations outside of southern california who specialize in 997 engine replacements, i'm happy to have the car shipped. from what i understand the replacement can cost anywhere between $14-$20k, so if there are highly recommended specialist, shipping it could make sense.
