Any way you cut it, it's still a dressed up 996. I'm disappointed Porsche is not doing better. Guess we'll have to wait for the 998.

It's a great facelift for the 996. A small evolutionary step. We don't want a BMWesque facelift with unnecessary vestigial styling.

When you look at the non-Photoshopped images above, or on the hyperlink, you may note that there may be a smaller fog light that is hidden by tape. It's in the same location of the current 996/986 foglight. You'll see a very faint round shadow on the closeup.

Further, the photoshopped pictures above obliterate the body panel crease that goes from the side marker lamp to the headlight.

I think the rounded hood looks great. I heard the now Boxster will have it too, making it more like the 356.
