997.1 Feels “Lumpy” Around 3rd Gear
Hi All
I’m a new 997.1 owner - 05 model. I’m finding that the car feels “lumpy” around third gear. Almost like if it was a turbo, there was turbo lag.
According to the paperwork I have with it, it’s had new coils / plugs in November.
Any advice on steps to check?
Thanks
OtN

Turn off the HVAC compressor by pressing the Eco button and see if that sensation goes away.

Do you have a scanner .... Plug it in check for codes then do a live diagnosis ....
Any specific rpm range ?? I know mine does not really like anything below 3k rpm .... what fuel are you running ?? Mine runs much better on 94 as opposed to 91 octaine in my area ...also I ran a container of Techron fuel injector cleaner before my last oil change and that also seemed to opener her up a bit.

The following codes are present with the engine running on the driveway:
- P0730 - Incorrect Gear Ratio
- 2315 - Communication Instrument Cluster
- 2310 - PSM Control Unit
- 2562 - Gear 3 Slips
The issue is noticeable at the lower rev range, not when driving at full throttle.

I started another thread on this (forgot about this post from July).

The A/C suggestion is because the additional drag from the A/C compressor on the belt run can actually be felt. I rarely drive my 997 with the A/C on and it's a 485 HP supercharged one - so not lacking in power, and I can steel feel that it runs differently with the A/C running. If it's really hot or I'm in a business suit, them I succumb and push the auto button, but begrudgingly so....
