Question on tracked cars
I used dealers for all of my tracked cars whether I used for instructing at HPDEs or on my GT3 Cup cars and Ferrari Challenge series cars. This way I knew everything was done perfectly and they know what to look for other than the obvious and, to me, perfect is the ONLY way to go when racing or on the track.
Dealer service means maintained with an open check book and good records. I personally shy away from and probably would not even mess with a DIY car unless I personally knew both the the owner and the car as, in my mind, this armature hour and on a budget.
I did used to wrench a lot on my old air cooled hot rods and race cars and could rebuild an engine back in the 80s and 90s, but I did this because I was on a budget.
