I must be misunderstanding. In a 997.2 isn't the only way to connect a phone to the PCM is via the UAI in the armrest?

The Bluetooth connectivity with PCM only supports phone calls in the 997.2. The UAI in the console only allows you to play media from a storage device such as a iPod or thumb drive. With the Bovee you can stream music directly from your phone along with running Waze or Google Maps

The UAI will also play from an iPhone when connected, not just from an iPod or thumb drive. It also plays audio from other Apps when hardwired. I just installed the Bovee and agree its nice to not have to connect via wires every time entering the car.

Thanks for all the responses.

I was able to buy one through ebay including the cable and it seems to work great.

My next question:

Do I need to unplug it from the USB port every time after use? Will it run down my battery?

I don't believe it has to be disconnected

I considered purchasing the Bovee, but decided to first try this simple audio/lightning connector cable for $13, and it works great. I have a Rennline mount, connect my iPhone to the aux input/USB port, and listen to Spotify through the phone app. Very clean looking and good clean sound through the Aux input. My phone calls are still routed through the PCM's bluetooth.

I would have used my UAI cable that came with the car (along with a 30 pin to lightning adapter) but the USB portion wasn't charging the phone as it should. Decided to go BT via Bovee rather than buy a new UAI cable.

I have kept mine plugged in, past few years. Have not noticed any significant drain.

Unfortunately, the music information using an Android device is not displayed as it does with iOS. Nonetheless, I really appreciate the PCM skip functions work with Android.
Btw, via a basic USB splitter, I also have a USB flash drive full with some two thousand-plus MP3's connected. Works great.

Does the PCM recognize the memory stick as AUX while recognizing your phone as IPOD?

PCM recognizes the memory stick as USB along with iPod (my BoVee BT) - via DISC

Thanks, that's a great idea - I wasn't sure if it would work! I just purchased the Bovee late fall, right before I put the car away. It seemed to work really well in my very limited use, but I did miss having my USB stick. I'll have to pick up a splitter like yours!!

So far, the Bovee 1000 is working beautifully. SO much better than the Tunai Firefly! It is well worth the investment.

Thank you very much for the advice everyone!

Hooked up a Bovee yesterday and it's great. Now both the built in BT works for phone calls and the Bovee BT works for iPhone music, Waze audio, etc. Found a good spot to put my phone utilizing 3D printed ashtray insert with magnetic phone mount attached. Can charge via lighter USB if needed.

I have a 997.2 and bought the Bovee with the 30 pin connector to listen to my music apps. I hooked it up to the OEM Y cable in my console but the sound plays only through the right side speakers. I tried selecting both iPod and Aux nope. I did some research and they said it was a setting on my iPhone. I went through iPhone and it seems to be set up properly but no dice. Wrong Bovee unit? OEM chord is not compatible? Help!!

Very weird. Prior to the Bovee were you connecting via 30pin to lightning adapter? Did that work properly? Doubt its the Bovee but possibly the OEM cable is defective. On the PCM can you check the “sound”, ie fader and left right balance, maybe it got shifted by accident?

i would order an inexpensive 30pin to lightning adapter and try that first. If it works then its the Bovee, if not its the Y cable. Good luck.
