Engine mounts advice - Wevo semi v OEM
Hi all
Have a 06’ 997 cab S manual, came with wevo semi solid mounts - yellow ones - pretty stiff and a decent amount of Vibration. Mostly feel it at cruise in high speeds but Kinda nice at lower speeds/Revs < 60mph and 4K.
any general advice If I should switch? Long term impacts of stiffer mounts? Got an Indy quoting $750 all in for the swap to OEM. I get some of this is just preference but curious To know your thoughts.
Thanks all

$750? No! Way too much. I just put Function First mounts on my
2010 C2S 6MT
Parts were were around $350, install $135. Total $485

Go to Function First web site. As I understand and have seen, OEM mounts have voids within. Ff mounts fill the voids adding a semi semi solid mount feel, minimal NVH. I like

I just installed the function first also.
They are OEM mounts with stiffened attachments.
http://www.function-first.com/produc...-mount-upgrade ($300)
Very happy with minimal increase in NVH.
Relatively easy to do yourself. A trained mechanic should be able to do the job in a hour. It took me two hours, but I didn't know what I was doing. $135 install seems reasonable .
How old are your Wevo's? might be worth something in the resell market.

I hardly notice any change in the NVH.

Not to take anything away from FF but since you have new OEM mounts, you can add the extra 3M PU to achieve the extra stiffness. Installing them is an easy DIY process as well with a floor jack and block of wood supported under the engine cradle.
