my signs were little pink drip that got consideravly worse in 2 days without driving, just starting it to identify leak source. 42K 2006 997.1 cab withTip.

Sorry, just saw this.

I got a strange chirp on startup... yea weird... maybe the pump was froze and the chirp was from the belt getting the thing going. The noise with a stethoscope was noise... not real bad sounding ... but like metal on metal bearings without grease. Then I was shooting birds from my car window.. moving my car very slowly... and I picked up a burning smell.... scary.

That's what I paid including new belt but that was about 4 years ago at the local dealership so I think you're quoted a fair price. Mine was covered under Fidelity warranty.
