Default Ideal location for an external GPS unit used for track sessions?

Somewhat trivial question ~

I just purchased a Garmin GLO 2 external GPS unit so I can gather data during track sessions. I'm wondering where you all have it placed? Thinking of just buying velcro strips and slapping it on the inside front or rear window, or finding a way to place it on the rear shelf. GPS units can be finnicky and usually require a clear line of sight so interested to hear where you found the ideal placement to be?

I haven't used the Garmin , but front dash or rear deck is fine.. make sure it's on the centerline of the car. If you have a cage, mount high near the rear back glass has worked well for me.
