The first question I see is: To fit a 325 tire properly, you'll need a custom 12.5" wheel. Are you considering custom wheels? A 12" wheel can take it but the tire will still be somewhat ballooned.
A 325 tire is out of spec for any narrower wheel and isn't suitable for any OEM wheel I am aware of.

Here's one of the several charts out there that can help with understanding tire widths: http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/ch...rim-size-chart

You might get more info if you say why you want to do this.

Stock 997.2RS is 325 on a 12" wheel, looks perfect. 997.1RS is 305 on a 12" and looks slightly stretched.

what size or style rims are you running now?? 12 inch wide rear wheel is ideal, but I run 325/30/19 on my Carrera Sport rims 11.5 inch wide rears and 245/35/19 on 8.5 inch wide fronts.

Keep in mind you have a all wheel drive...4s car. You must keep the front to rear overall tire diameter the same or you will have issues with your transfer case transmission

Yes. You are correct for the 4S.. its important to keep front and rear tire diameter within a certain percentage. Going up to those sizes still retains the front to rear diameter relationship and is still within the safety margin. The relationship comparison is very similar to the stock diameter differences of the 235/305 combo for the 4S. You must do all four tires at same time to avoid any transfer case issues. A lot of turbo and wide body guys have been using this tire combo for a long time with no issues.

Just the info I was looking for, and didn't think this was possible. Is this car lowered? I have the same wheels on my 997.2 4S and would like a slightly more compliant ride and felt the asthetic could also be improved.

In the end would you still recommend this tire size?

Ps - love your videos. Didn't know you moved to a 997.2

I'm running HRE P101's on my GTS. 12" in the rear and 9" upfront with 325 and 245 widths with H&R springs. These fit easily on the wide body GTS. Pic from Tail of the Dragon a couple years ago.

Actually I did not move to 997.2, but I did do a 997.2 front bumper conversion and then a 997.2 rear bumper conversion as well after those photos on my 997.1
I have also moved on to new wheels and tires with 8.5x19 front and 12x19 rear OZ Leggera HLT.

BUT, before all that I did run the same tire size 245/19/35 front and 325/30/19 rear on my OEM Carrera Sport 8.5x19 front and 11.5 x 19 rear.
here are a couple more pics showing the rear tire 325 on an 11.5 inch wheel running Michelin Pilot Sport tires. With the 11.5 inch rims the 325 fit great but with a more square side wall look. With a 12 inch wide rim, the side wall looks a bit more round since the tire is stretched a bit wider.

Yes, the car is lower in these photos with Eibach Pro-kit springs 30mm drop.

Do I still recommend for the Carrera Sport Wheels?? Yes, but it does look best if the car is lowered as well. Also, you have to remember that a taller side wall will also allow a bit more flex side to side versus a side wall that is already stretched a bit more on a wider wheel. In other words you may feel a bit more flex in the tire as it settles into the turn, even though you have a bigger contact patch and more grip. It will also give you a bit more compliance, but also a little hint more of tire noise too, since you have a bigger contact patch on the road. Hope that makes sense. Not enough noise to deter me from doing it again. I always thought the oem 305/30/19 rear look too stretched for me and I preferred a more squared and slightly taller side wall look. It helped to fill in the rear wheel well a bit better.

My favorite 911 wheels. Great looking ride!

Looking really sharp...and clean. I'm running the same wheels on a black 997.2 4S and I'll be powder coating the wheels gloss black. I would expect the slower turn-in on the wider tires. Since I don't track the car - and I honestly think it has too much grip (boring) - I'm willing to accept the tradeoff for a little more compliance. It looks better too, and offers more curb rash protection for the wheels. Thanks for the reply and more details...

I'm totally considering the 245/325 setup for my next set of tires. but will be sticking to the 8"/11" wheel setup. hopefully it wont look too bad, but it surely feels in the wheel well so much better.

however 8.5/11.5 rims would certainly fit the 245/325 tires setup better, maybe this will give me an excuse to upgrade to the rs98s.
