Folks, a very good buddy of mine is ready to pull the trigger on a 997.1, which will be his first P-Car. He lives in Virginia Beach, and a serious prospect for him is located at Marshall Goldman in Warrensville Heights, OH. Does anyone know of a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and objective person, perhaps a Rennlister, in that area that would potentially coordinate with my buddy and look at the car in person to assess it for him (maybe with him) before making a purchase decision? He's a car guy, but not (yet) a Porsche guy. Thanks in advance for any assistance / feedback.

Reading Yelp reviews, I would be on full alert with this dealer: https://www.yelp.com/biz/marshall-go...sville-heights
Not positive at all.

Is this the car?: https://www.marshallgoldmanoh.com/us...briolet-c-920/
If so, it looks OK, but the interior shows wear on the door cards, wheel and other touch surfaces. Driver bolster not bad. Definitely priced at the higher end at $50K. Has a good CarFax history. VIN decodes as:https://vinanalytics.com/car/WP0CA29988S765593/

Yes, that looks like the car. But, interestingly, the listing my buddy is working with is updated with a $48k price. Still high, IMO, and my buddy is aware. But, it shows well. Buddy is likely flying out, after having done a virtual walkaround, and spoken to the sales person extensively. Looking for PPI options in that area. Thanks for the assessment points you shared. I've passed those along as well.

That car is priced near the top of an S coupe range and it's a base model and a cab. It's $10k too expensive and I don't see much special about how it's configured. Your buddy can get a lot more car for his money than this one. Since head a car guy, he should look for an S cab with adaptive seats and some other nice options. Will have a stronger engine, better brakes, PASM so he can add DSC, likely more leather, etc
