Howdy all - I'm seeing posts with estimates of PDK services in the ~$500-$600 range.
I'm in Long Beach CA, and I'm getting quotes of ~ $1100 for the same service.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good price and quality PDK service in my area?
Thanks!

Which specific PDK service are you looking to have done?
PDK Clutch Oil replacement?
PDK Gear Oil replacement?

Thanks...I should have included more info. 2011 Carrera, 93k miles on the car. I wasn't aware there were different PDK services....I would want to get any and all service work done to the PDK.

The PDK Gear Oil service is recommended at 120k miles or 12 years - so that one is not quite yet called for.
I had the Clutch Oil service done on my '09 this past summer. Was done at the local Porsche dealer for $561.
Having both services done at the same time of course would cost more than I paid for the single service, but it would be cheaper than to have each one done at separate times.

I live in Orange County and would recommend Pacific German or Cape Auto. Have serviced my cars at both places and both are reputable shops. Pacific German is more geared towards performance upgrades but they do full Porsche service and members of their staff have owned multiple 997s. Cape Auto is rock solid too.

The PDK Clutch Oil service is recommended at 60k miles or 6 years - so your car is past-due for that one.

Thanks - I spoke to the local Porsche dealer yesterday who told me the Porsche PDK fluid for the job costs $450, and there's ~ 2.5 hours of labor involved, so you got a great deal.
Thanks for reaching out! I may contact you guys about some work I need to get done.
Thank you for the recommendation!

If you are thinking about using the dealer that quoted you the $450 for the fluid - you may want to ask them to substantiate how they arrived at that number.

$1100 is high compared to what you get even with a pan replacement. Porsche MSRP for the pan is $510 though you can find the genuine Porsche pan online for $350 (Sunset Porsche Parts). URO makes an aluminum upgraded pan (as opposed to the factory plastic version) with a replaceable filter element for $230. ATL Speedworks commented they use this on all PDKs now. For fluid you only need four quarts, not the six listed as capacity as less than four will drain. Porsche MSRP is $35 each through you can find it online for $24 each. Generic Pentosin FFL-3 (the same stuff) can be found online for $16 each.
So here's the material total summary:
- Genuine Porsche parts at MSRP (dealer price): $650
- Genuine Porsche parts at discount pricing: $450
- URO aluminum pan with generic FFL-3: $294
It's an hour labor, at least that's what it took me to DIY it. Even paying MSRP I don't see how they get to $1100 unless they are inflating part costs or labor hours. Would be interesting to see an itemized estimate.

Fletcher Jones now, under new management recently. Shame too as the iconic Circle Porsche is gone, along with their porschepartsnow.com discount parts website which was my go to source for factory parts.

Thanks for sharing the details and breakdown of parts and labor. I performed my last PDK service in 6/2021 with Porsche of Fremont in NorCal (also Fletcher Jones). From what I recall I think the labor is where they get you.
We’re now in a position where we reside in socal / NorCal and I’d be all for developing a new win win relationship with any great dealer for services having added a 992 and Cayenne more recently as well.
