I've been using the Schumacher battery maintainer for over 5 years with optimal results. I only drive 2.5K miles a year but the last battery lasted 8 1/2 years. For comparison, without the battery maintainer, my mom's mercedes GLA only lasted 5 years at same usage.

I have two CTEKs. MUS-3300 and the MUS-7002. I would buy either again without hesitation. I prefer the MUS-7002. More output and a Supply mode. It also has more settings and lights to entertain you with.
I also have an Odyssey 25 amp charger that I use routinely, and a recently acquired PMBC-100 for more significant efforts.

Battery Tender, while not the prettiest charger in the available stable, it rates as one of the best all around tenders out there. Just do a quick search. CTEK typically comes up empty or low on the charts.

A proper battery charger comparison for this would be lights per dollar, buttons per dollar, modes/dollar, amps/dollar, best looking case, lack of independence of website comparison, AND lastly, which one of the youtube videos is the most entertaining.

I think I know the answer to this one but here goes. How many strikes does a battery maintainer get? The other day I was in the garage and I noticed the lights were out on my Porsche branded maintainer. I turned it back on figuring maybe there was a power glitch and the thing is sensitive to that sort of stuff (even though it hasn't happened before). This morning I was in the garage getting the snow blower out and same thing. I turned it back on (no problem), unplugged it and reset it. Am I shopping for a new one this morning?

I use the CTEK 40-206 MXS 5.0-12 Volt Battery Charger on both my 09 997.2 4S and 10 Panamera 4S. Works great!

When my 10 years old Porsche branded CTEK behaved erratically earlier this year, I ordered a NOCO genius5 and been very happy with it since. The CTEK design is at least 10 years old and I wanted newer design and technology so I decided to give NOCO a try
