Scuffed Inner Door Sills Solution
#16
As opposed to wrapping as originally suggested, some years ago I went with a stainless overlay with back lit logo. These came from a Mercedes after market specialist and I apologize for not having a link. This info was originally on this Forum so if you have a search function (I don't) you may be able to locate it. Logos could be custom defined as well as color. They attach with double sided tape and wire to the interior lights routing under the weather stripping. These have held up well but since they add a bit of height the bottom of the door rests on them and transfers a couple of ovals that can be polished out but will return.

I completely upgraded mine, removed the outer sill and replaced with carbon fibre and had the decal made up and fort the inner sills I had mine re-trimmed in alcantara with red stitching to match the seat belts.
Scuff marks are just brushed away and alcantara still looks like new after being on the car for a few months now.

Thanks for the kind replies guys, I do love my alcantara and carbon fibre and hated the look of the worn sills!
So the carbon fibre sills were made by a buddy of mine who does custom work on bicycles, he told me it is a relatively easy piece to make. You can also buy them from here: https://www.carbonlution.com/store/p...rsche_997.html
No affiliation and have no idea as to the quality of their carbon fibre, but I am thinking of ordering some parts from them!
The decal I had made up as I like the more modern look of the 911 badging which also tied in with my Porsche script puddle lights.
Alcantara: I had the alcantara left over from my lower dash re-trim and I paid the trimmer $150 to re-trim and add the stitching. So all in all a relatively cheap mod considering it is something you look at each time you get in and out of the car.

I tried the door sills with a magic eraser today to take off the scuff marks, it works, but did dull the plastic a bit (seems more like a dark grey now), I think with a proper plastic coating it would be perfect. I tried 303 but it did not make a big difference.
I would say go easy when doing it, I feel like I might have been using too much force, it won't remove 100% of the marks, but they are much less obvious.
