HOW TO Secure Inflatable Spare Tire in 997/987/981
#17
@Fullyield Just to be clear, the inflated 986 Boxster spare fits in a 997.2 C2S frunk, standing upright with no other mods? And you can still close the frunk?
I'm in the market for a spare solution, and I'm deciding between the inflated Boxster spare and the 996 collapsible spare. I've been reading old threads that suggest the Boxster spare needs to be tilted at an angle to fit in the frunk, even in 2S, whereas only the collapsible spare can stand upright and still allow you to close the frunk. I'd prefer to buy the inflated Boxster spare as collapsible ones can be finicky to inflate if they've been used before and the Boxster spares sell for quite a bit less, but I don't want my spare to eat up all my storage space.
