Default Rear spring access is a Cabrio

Im upgraded to some Lowering springs in my 997., but I can't find any info on how to access the top of the spring mount in a Cabriolet.

Anyone have any helpful info??

Thanks

They are much simpler than coupe.

First is you need to put your convertible top in service mode (basically partly open the top, unlatch the 2 ball joint strings at the rear back of the top and fold the back of the top up).

Next you need to remove the rear tray carpet. Pop few plastic retainers and you can remove the rear carpet.

From there you can see the 3 nuts on each side holding the upper strut mounts.

The side you are looking at is OK (minus my kids bike), the other side near the wall is tight. Good news is you don't need that much space to pull the struts out.
You have to remove one of the rear dog bone arm to get the rear strut out. When you put it back, make sure you jack the rear suspension to car on ground height and torque the dog bone that way.
I torqued mine when suspensions were fully extended and had clunking noise (loose dog bone) on my first test drive. So I put a jack underneath the control arm, eyeballed the loaded suspension height and torqued the dog bone; noise gone.
