Shout out that the new iPhone 12 connects to 997.2 PCM without any issues. Just obtained an iPhone 12pro Max and PCM on my 2010 Carrera S 997.2 connects without issues.

 

What do you mean by that? My 11 Pro connects just fine on my ‘12 C2S? Is there something magical to it? Like you can stream music or directions with the 12?

 

there was a thread awhile back about someone who had problems connecting with their new iPhone 11.

 

I wonder if it’s because it doesn’t prompt users to enter their own PIN which is slightly unusual. If you’d have said “I get CarPlay”, I’d be waiting for the Apple store to open as we speak!!

 

I saw apple car play upgrade for Boxster the other day. I would think Porsche will offer something for us soon. $$$$$$

 

NM Automotive have just launched a CarPlay retrofit kit for PCM 3.0, the first kits are being shipped next week.

They are not on the website yet, drop them an email and they will send you the data sheet etc. You do need to have an Aux in to the PCM for it to work.

I have placed an order and am expecting it this / early next week.

Both CarPlay and android auto are wireless and support for a front and back up camera.

My PCM 3.0 Bluetooth worked with my iPhone 11 Pro Max but the PCM would occasionally reboot while connected. So I haven’t bothered pairing my 12 Pro Max.

The Porsche iPod connector works with both the iPhone 11 and 12 with the Apple 30 pin to Lightning adapter.

The NM product looks good. If it works well then I definitely want it. Especially if I can add front and rear cameras.

 

How much do they want ? $$$$$

£425 + shipping. Yes all functions of the PCM remain the same except the AUX in the arm rest as that provides the audio input for the CarPlay kit.

 

CarPlay would be amazing! Please update once you get the unit.
