Finally pulled the trigger 997.2 c2s

I hate the idea of driving a beautiful car in salt, so AWD wasn't a factor for me. I store mine. AWD = more weight, maintenance, and upkeep. I would drive it for a year and see if you aren't happy with it the way it is. Nice car though - nothing better than the black ones.

When I was initially looking for my car I wanted AWD too. I like the look of the wider back end. I am glad I never found one. I like the back end breaking loose every now and again when I feel playful. Nice looking car.

Denali back in 2002, I said, wow, I'll never own another car that's not AWD again. Then I found my RUF 997 that I had to have that was built on a C2S platform and decided with the rear engine weight over driven wheels it would be fine, and so glad I didn't end up with AWD for the playful reason you state. It's also hust fine in the rain, even heavy rain, and I love the better steering feel too. I enjoy it so much if I ever had to replace it, I'd buy a Turbo and do a FWD delete on it so it was inky RWD, like a baby GT2.
Actually, out driving it today the way its supposed to be driven. Love this thing.

I tested both 997 2WD and 4WD for about 1/2 year, whenever I got a chance, before I found the right car.
I liked the feel of the 4WD better, especially in pulling through corners; the little bit of extra weight and, again, the pulling-through feeling is very nice. But each to his/her own.
But of course both 997 versions are wonderful, and they are, imo, the last of the simple, clean-looking 911s.

agreed. I like the wide body not necessarily the AWD and the GTS is was out of my budget but honestly a C2s with spacers look awesome as well.
