As part of my current project, I have an airbag warning light come on. I'm in the process of bringing a neglected 997.1 C4S back to life. It was previously in at least one bump. There is no chassis damage but I've replaced both front wings and the front bumper. It looks like the previous owner removed the airbag wiring and cut one of the internal wires to prevent the warning light showing. The garage that is doing a lot of the technical work has repaired the cut wiring and replaced the airbag wiring loom with a new OEM part. Unfortunately the airbag light has come on and is staying on. Does anyone have any advice on why this might be the case?
This. And airbag warnings won't clear on their own even if the issue is corrected. They have to cleared with a scanner. The seat belts have pretensioners in them that are also part of the SRS system.

I've never seen codes like that before. Seems like the car was in an airbag deploying accident and instead of replacing the parts to bring it back, the whole system was just bypassed. Did you know all of this when purchasing the car and decided to buy it anyway?
Those 2 codes about thing being connector to alternate sources seem like the wiring still isn't right, even with the new loom, but I'm just guessing.
Did they scan it with a Porsche compatible scanner as none of the codes start with a P Sonim wondering how accurate those codes are.
Good questions. I bought it ay auction at risk. As a result it was relatively cheap but issues were anticipated. That wiring issue sounds like it might be right. The previous owner had cut some of the wiring to make the warning light go off. Call me fussy but I'd rather fix it and have an airbag that works. Does make you wonder what goes on in some peoples minds.
I'm not sure what sort of scanner was used, I was just sent a screenshot. I'll look into it a little more
