You are on the 997 forum so expect bias. That said, I would personally go for the GTS between those options. The fact you are daily driving it makes it a closer call for most people. For me, I would still appreciate the far superior steering and exhaust note + infinitely better looks. Performance is more than adequate.

Why not just go drive one. I'm not sure where you live but there are quite a few for sale and seem to be evenly distributed around the country.

I don't think anyone can convince you one way or another, its so subjective. I wouldn't base any assumption on a GTS ride quality on driving a 1st generation 997 some years ago. It's really quite marvelous and there's a reason they're so desirable

I realize it is subjective, and yes I am not basing my opinion on my 997.1 base ride, that is why I wanted to hear from 997.2 GTS owners what they would say. It would be helpful to add to my decision making process and what to do next on my opportunity.

The only way to do this correctly is to ask in the 991 forum too.
You will actually have people who have owned both cars in that forum. Here you will more than likely only have people who have owned the 997.2 GTS, there have been a few people on here saying they owned something like what you are asking to compare but in the 991 forum there are a few people who have owned 997.2 GTS in the past and now own a 991.2
This subject has been covered over there too if you do a google search.
