It's very likely! I actually had pretty much the same reaction after driving a friend's 997 which is what prompted me to make the change. Moved from a similar car as well but to a c4s.

We all recognize that smile you had on your face after your first acceleration from first to third. It is a well known feeling and it still hasn’t subsided for me. Good luck finding the right 997 for you!

I've had my 997.1 since June, and you've done a great job summing up the experience, Tom. It's really the sweet spot of power, involvement, old, and modern.
And as a NJ guy, I'm sure you're familiar with the roads in northern NJ and southern NY state. A 997 is the perfect car for a slow carve through Harriman or blasting over the mountain on 17A into Greenwood Lake late at night. It's fun at any speed.

That's a good video. He sums up well the attraction to the 997 model because of the driving experience.
With mine having been off the road for a year until a couple weeks ago, yiu really don't realize how different and special the drive in these is until you're not in one for a while and get back into one.
I'd suggest the video guy, rather than increase the sway bars to get the flatter handling he seeks, he add the TPC DSC controller as that will flatten the handling in the corners dynamically without sacrificing the straight line comfort.
Also, he makes reference to a 385 HP figure at the beginning of the video. Unless this was an X51 car, that number is incorrect, and should be 355 HP.

I believe he corrected the HP numbers in the vid.
Also, the car does have the TPC DSC controller already and it rides very nice now. I strictly drive it in Sport now unless the road is really bad as it's actually usable now compared to stock Sport mode.
I recently did the eibach springs and maybe they are the "soft feel" compared to his M3 which has the coilover sleeves. It's a progressive spring so soft at first so maybe. It definitely leaned more stock without the DSC controller as I experienced with a couple track days with it both stock and with DSC controller and no other changes to the suspension.

As you may have guessed, I have one of these, but it's controlling Bilstein Damptronics with an RSS Tarmac Stage 2 suspension setup.

Cool and nice looking car. Have you played with the customizability of the DSC maps at all. If you're only using the sport mode, you could make that your normal mode and have an even more track focused mode available. Quite a bit of customization can be done to define the stiffness range in which the shocks work and how quickly they stiffen per G load. Since the stock PASM dampeners are kind of slow reacting, you can fake them to increase their reaction time by going beyond the 500 max stiffness rating in the G-table which will make them stiffen faster by making larger electronic jumps. You don't want to go above the max softness value as you can overheat the shocks, but going past max stiffness is OK.
As you may have guessed, I have one of these, but it's controlling Bilstein Damptronics with an RSS Tarmac Stage 2 suspension setup.

Unfortunately don't know
It will be a sad day when I have to replace it because I won't know how to re-create it.
For me it's perfect. Loud enough when I get on it, no drone and decent on the highway. Tommy the reviewer would've wanted more sound himself
I've posted up on here to see what people thing but no one could identify it.
