Default Center Radiator for 997.1 C2 with GT3 bumper

I just bought a 2005 997.1 Carrera with a 997.1 GT3 front bumper. I'm planning to track the car and would like to upgrade the cooling capacity with a center radiator. I know there's a center radiator kit for Carreras with stock bumpers, but does anyone know which kit will work with my converted bumper? Do I simply need a 997 GT3 compatible radiator like this one?

https://flat6motorsports.com/product...diator-997-gt3

Any guidance is much appreciated!

Looks great, I'm pretty sure the factory 3rd rad is the one you want for the car. Unless its not a MT?

Someone more knowledgeable with confirm or correct.

You need the more expensive GT3 Center Radiator I believe. The Carerra one vents out the bottom and you need the one that vents out of the top.
I think it's the same radiator but the mounting brackets are different.

My car is MT. I don't think the factory Carrera radiator will fit with the GT3 bumper.

Hmm so besides the bumper there should be no difference in radiator mounting between the Carrera and GT3? I'm trying to figure out if I need different hardware to mount a GT3 radiator, considering my car already has the GT3 bumper.

Download the official Porsche PET/Catalog for both your car and the GT3 model that bumper came from.

That way you can compare every part in the front bumper and cooling sections between the two models, and you’ll be able to identify what’s different.

Details here: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...he-s-site.html

And Hella-Buggin is correct, the GT3 center radiator vents up whereas the Carrera version vents down. So I’d imagine the ducting, etc. is different.

Karl.

My car had the same bumper the center radiator kit from Suncoast fits fine. Includes everything you need. Best time to also add the grills. Took me about 3 hours plus bleed time. Hint -refill the center rad before install...

Thanks. You're right - the GT3 radiator seems to mount so that air passes through it at an upward angle whereas the Carrera radiator vents slightly downward.

Ah so your Carrera radiator vents downward instead of upward. Is there any downside to this design? Also nice NSX! Fellow NSX owner here

Yes down...the best part you notice is oil temps on the track lowered by 15 degrees.

There are a few NSX and 911 owners...always nice to have people with similar tastes

Excellent, that's all I needed to know! $195 is a low price to pay for that big of a drop in oil temp.

Someday I'll have a 997 GT3 but until my faux GT3 will have to do...
