Default 2005 997.1 C2 Cab engine mounts

My 2005 997.1 C2 Cabriolet with 100k miles is in need of new engine mounts. After reading about aftermarket solid and semi solid mounts I am inclined to go with OEM mounts for balance of comfort and performance. My independent quoted me $830.00. Did not get a breakdown on labor/parts but the Porsche dealer quoted $450 labor.

After watching a few videos, this is one repair I'm confident I can handle myself AND pay for a floor jack and torque wrench, which I need, with the labor savings alone.

Question: I can not find the exact OEM part for sale? Part number 997 375 049 03 . Here is a picture of the mount in my car. Sticker shows part # 03 but stamped on the mount is 05, 06, 07 and 01 .

Are these part numbers all interchangeable?

multiple part numbers on engine mount

AND can anyone refer me to a reseller for the part. I'm having trouble finding this series of part numbers for sale.

Thanks!

For balance of comfort and performance may I recommend the Function First mounts. Look stock but have a little extra rigidity to give the best of both worlds.

Did mine last year and no complaints.

They look good. But this leads to my question of compatibility. They have just one for all 997's .1 and .2 cab or coupe . I have seen reference in other places that specifically say the cab and coupe mounts are different. Maybe just in stiffness then?? It would seem the dimensions of the mounts themselves would be the same for all 997's?

Not sure on your question exactly so maybe others can chime in. If it helps mine went on a 2005 coupe with no issues. Hope that helps.

Thanks. Just spoke with the local Porsche parts guy. He said the difference is a matter of stiffness for coups vs convertibles. Have sent the question to Function-first to see their explanation for just a single mount for all 997's . BTW, OEM Porsche part cost is ..... $360 EACH !

I think you can get the Porsche branded part from Pelican for 300 each. If you go aftermarket OE replacement, it'll be cheaper as well. The other option is to go with a number of aftermarket poly mounts. They're usually stiffer than stock and that's likely why they can use one part number across all body styles.

Try partsgeek. They have them for $220 / ea. You'll find that the Porsche tax is very high and that they use suppliers just like we can find but at a premium.

The part number you have has been superseded by 99737504907. Try Pelican parts, Sunset Porsche Parts or Porsche Atlanta parts.

The last 2 digits of a Porsche part number are a revision number. Every part starred with an 00 or 01 on the end and ,and as they made a change or update to that part, they increase those last 2 digits by one number so the next version of the same part ends in an 02, then an 03 and so on. The highest last two digits out there would be the latest iteration of the same part.

Thanks everyone for the input.

$480 for the pair at Suncoast or Part's Geek. Vs $720 at the dealer.
$295 for a pair of Function-First . Waiting to hear back from them. Anyone else besides rsinghal3 have experience with these? rsinghal3rsinghal3
Independent shop labor 2.5hrs at $135 hr. for $340 Vs $450 labor at the dealer.

After watching a few videos. I'm going to do this myself and pay for a floor jack and torque wrench with the savings.

I have both the FF motor mounts and the trans insert in my car. These together tighten up the shift feel significantly but they also add more NVH into the cabin. Perhaps doing the motor mount along would reduce this but if you're looking for OEM NVH, function first mounts are unlikely to fit the bill. Personally, I feel that they added/enhanced the character of the car and I don't feel it being any louder than the road noise with the rear tires. I daily drive my car and also taken it on several long road trips without too much fuss. Also to confirm, the install is super easy if you have some basic tools, a jack, and torque wrench.

Would highly recommend tackling yourself...not difficult at all. I think it took me about 30 minutes and a great excuse to get some new tools.

2 hours of labor is crazy.

I put function first on my 2007 997.1 cab and I like the upgrade. Although I also added a Numerica SS at the same time, so hard to discern what exactly did what.
