Hi Everybody,
I've just begun my search for my first 911 and while my focus has been on 996s, I came across a high mileage (156,000 mi) 997.1 for under $25k which has piqued my interest. The car appears to be well taken care of and the owner has full service records dating back to 2005. He also offered to take the car to Salerno Motorsports for a PPI. I've seen couple threads about high mileage cars but most of those are within the 80k-90k range. This is almost double that so I'm unsure whether this could be a good buy or if I should walk away from this one. I'm not worried too much about resale value but i do plan on driving it a lot. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Candidly, I would think paying more for one with less than 70k would be MUCH CHEAPER in the long run. These cars with that many miles can get super expensive quick.

That car has been listed for quite some time. Its a great color and interior combo but the owner listed a laundry list of issues with the car. At 25k, I think that's a bit optimistic. Fwiw, I've just rolled over 152k on my 997.1 c4s so high mileage cars are putting around in the while. But I don't think there's a large number of other owners driving these cars every day or holding onto them when the mileage gets up there. As long as you're going into it knowing you may well need an emergency fund to rebuild the motor or fix the many things that wear on higher mileage cars, its fine. But this car has a misfire issue along with some other things if its the same car I saw for sale a couple months ago.
edit: I think that seller had it listed cheaper if its the same car from a couple months ago. Maybe he's fixed some things on it since then but I'm not sure without seeing the ad. Have you found it via fb marketplace?
