Default Durametric - Reset ECU

2010 997 C2

So apparently for any Coding changes in 'Instrument Cluster' to take effect, the ECU has to be reset by clicking the Reset ECU button.

My only question is, whether this is a safe action to take, and I won't be bricking the ECU i.e. car?

Changes I want to make, in the Cluster, Key and Key 2
- middle display to show Radio info
- set units, time etc.

Thanks in advance for your insights, advice

Always capture a backup of the current setup and save it to the PC before you make any coding changes. I can't answer your specific question, but in my 997.1 I've never had to do that to implement a coding change and I've done a few, like comfort windows up and down with the key button, side markers as blinkers, enable multi-function steering wheel, etc.

Yeah, Instrument Custer has this additional requirement. When it opens the main page on the right where you click to go to coding there is a text box that says that ECU needs to be reset
