997 2006 4.5.6 random misfire
Hi
Porsche 2006 997 has 4.5.6 random misfires plugs changed and the coils, runs ok, when the car is idle starts to misfire on 4.5.6. Anyone know what the problem is.

Does it misfire immediately when first started or after the idle drops after the first 30-60 seconds? Do you have a tool that will measure camshaft deviation on both banks. If it runs fine when initially started but the misfires start once the idle drops, your camshaft position sensor on that bank has probably failed. You can swap it with the one from the other bank and see if the misfires switch to cylinders 1, 2, & 3 which will tell you definitively if that's the problem.
