Market Value - Base 997.1
I'm thinking of changing gears and trying to pick-up a house while interest rates at all-time lows - would love to get some feedback on what market value would be for my 2005 997.1, considering I would pursue a quicker/more painless sale.
I've spoken to a couple of dealers and have a soft offer of $21-22k for trade-in. Located just outside of Pittsburgh.
2005 997.1 (base)
6sp manual
Black/Black
74k miles
Mechanical condition 9/10
Exterior condition 6/10 (needs paint correction, been a daily driver for me and likely previous owners for several years)
Interior condition 6/10 (needs a deep detail, some fade on steering wheel, wear on side bolster)
In Feb/March-2020, performed the following (~$8k):
Bad season to be selling and I imagine a quicker sale would need a drop closer to $25k?
I appreciate the feedback, thanks all.

Considering all you've done and the overall market today I would ask $32k and negotiate from their, but $29K would probably be a quick sale; $25k would be a steal for somebody. I was offered on my base '05 with 40k miles $26k from a dealer here in NJ back in April; but I realized things are overall cheaper in the Pittsburgh area. Not worth to me it to me to let mine (me one owner) go for less than $32k -what would i cost effectively / to joy factor replace it with?

Check BaT for examples. 997 realization is way higher than I would have thought. This car should ask $32 like everyone has said, and go down as low as $29 for a fairly quick sale.
Where in Pittsburgh are you? Shoot me a PM.

Being a base model, I would have said $25, but with the maintenance history and upgrades like the IMS Solution, I'd say spend a few hundred making the outside look better and you'd be closer at $30. All 997 values are going up, especially MT cars.
Home mortgage rates are so low now though financing the $30k you'd get for the car to put into the house won't move the payment much at all, especially on a 30 year fixed. I just refinanced my hose and moved to a 15 year. For a couple hundred more per month than the significant overpaying of principal I was doing on the prior 30 year mortgage, I'll end up paying it off 3 years earlier and saving $60k in interest.

As an aside, given the low rates and the spread, I would recommend a 30 over a 15 year mortgage. You can always prepay when times are good, but have a lower payment when things are tight. I am closing on my 30 year refi next week, fingers crossed.

No, not authentic Fuchs. Surprisingly, I got them on a Tirerack firesale at about $240 each and they are a Cayman fitment (18") which actually has better offsets, for our 911 (go figure) so less spacers required (7mm back, 0 front). Now, these were the all silver ones, however I plasticoated black the insides between the "fan" blades, will probably get them professionally painted at some point but these actually came out fine and are holding up well and they ride great. So effectively they are my own ' ustom knockoff Fuchs'. Frankly, I love the more modern style and lip on them and I would have a custom forged set made to look exactly the same, just to lose maybe five pounds or more per wheel if I wanted to shell out $6K or so. Maybe after I do a Raby 4.0 monster, ha ha.
I get so many more looks and comments and "you thinking about selling" on my car since i put these on about eight months ago , more so than collectively in the fifteen years I've has the car.
