Default Random noises and thumps from speakers when doors are opened

Last week, I opened up the passenger door of the car to get something out - and heard this weird sound - thumping and a bit of static. I have attached a recording.

The only way at that time I could get it to stop was to put the key in the car.

Since then, the noise has gotten louder and more frequent - can even happen while driving the car. It can get quite loud - almost like thunder. This morning I got something out of the car and could hear the sound outside my house from maybe 100 feet away

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Whoa that's weird. My speakers will randomly thump when I open or close a door but they don't sound anything like that. I chalked it up to my amplifier as I have no lows or mids in my stereo system right now. I really haven't dug any deeper into this.

Is it possible just the speaker you are hearing is blown or has some sort of wiring issue that needs to be investigated?

I can't open the recording on my phone, but the thump when opening a door is usually the subwoofer amplifier when it gets energized if it's not properly grounded. Is your rear Bose sub box stock or modified with different subs or amps?

I pulled the 10 amp fuse and that stopped the noise. It is a constant thumping - very annoying.

here is the sound as a video file when I put the fuse back in

the video file doesn't do the sound justice - it is really loud!

Petza914 - I just noticed I never answered your question - I have the base (non-Bose) system. I just got the car back from the shop - the amp was shot. I need to replace it.
