Final update: she's gone but not forgotten. What a great car. The new owner is terrific, and I think he's going to love it coming from 996 base. Could not ask for a better buyer start to finish -- brought my wife a case of nice wine to the handover, and a bottle for my local indy who he talked to at length (from what I gather).
I took delivery of my '69 last weekend. The color and paint quality is stunning in person. Some small misadventures already with a dead battery stranding it on the transport for a while, a 3 stooges gash/bump on my head leaning into the open hood corner, etc. All part of the adventure I think.
Haven't had time to do much yet, and if you take your car out here now, it gets ashes from the fires all over it. Ossi Blue is a great color, but it really shows the ashes.
Thanks for all your advice. I suspect all of your opinions on this topic are probably correct, just not all at the same time.
