Default Installed DSC controller 997.2 c4s

First off, I have to say Tom and their team are awesome! Super knowledgeable and passionate. I ordered yesterday at 1pm EST and it arrived at my door by 10 am today!

I opted for the launch control version for my 2010 c4s, 6 spd, PASM, only modifications are sharkwerks bypass and 7 and 15 mm spacers. Everything else is stock.

It took all of 2 min to install, pull old one out, put new one in.. it was like sticking a game genie cartridge into my car and unlocking hidden features and performance benefits.

first impressions:
It feels like a new car. No nose lifting or diving on hard acceleration or braking, bumps are much more compliant, feels like modern bmw m car sensation over sewer grates. That nice solid thunking, not the jarring crashy sounds when typically in stock sport mode. With DSC installed, the difference between normal and sport mode are not as noticeable when driving around town. Without DSC, if you changed to sport mode, you can feel the suspension stiffen, now it is a bit more subtle. However, when pushed in either mode, the suspension just tightens and stiffens up in an unobtrusive way. On jug handles, the car is super flat and zero body roll.

All of this is after a very quick drive and I will continue to post my impressions as I get more seat time. Haven’t even tried the launch control yet!

I am 100% impressed with the changes and feel as this is how the car should have come from factory. I should have done this sooner!

any other opinions?

I think the universal opinion is that it is a great upgrade. I found the default programming to be perfect for my needs, and others have found that they need to change the settings to their preferences. Best of all worlds.

Jug handles a northern thing for fwy ramps. Old engineering design.
2 minute install? You must have small hands! But agree it’s life changing and worth every penny.

New Jersey uses 'jug handles' for left hand turns off of divided roads.

Jersey, 2 rights don’t correct a wrong, but 3 rights make a left.

Just wanted to give this throwback analogy a little love. Takes me back!

Also, "jug handle" is pure Jersey. I've been here over 30 years and still remember when my friend / navigator told me to "take the next jug handle." I needed him to explain that one!

Anyways, good luck with the DSC. I'm in a 997.1 without the gyro, so it's less plug-and-play for me, but there's been a lot of positive chatter here about it lately and I'm definitely intrigued.

Launch control sets the suspension to the optimal settings at launch. I believe the rear compression softens so there is less squat, while the front rebound stiffens to lessen overloading the rear tires.

Ordered mine Sunday and will be here tomorrow. 997.2 C4S as well. Manual.

Assumed I didn’t need launch control as the manuals don’t have this programming. Further I don’t race or manually launch my car.

Seen the video where it helps tune the suspension for above scenarios.

Is there anything else I’m missing by not ordering the launch control option?

I think launch control is only for PDK . I put DSC in my 2009 mt turbo cab and love it . It made both settings much better.
