I have ruled out the "911" badge of any kind. I ruled out body colored.
I am deciding between these versions, essentially stock Carrera badge but in Gold, Black or regular matte silver - and PORSCHE letters in similar colors.
Thoughts?
CARRERA versions:
CARRERA MATTE SILVER. Its just good also. CARRERA GOLD. I think it just pops and compliments the color. CARRERA BLACK. This reminds me of Copper brown Turbo from 70s with that black turbo badge. Kinda cool. Photoshop Is POOR on this one! Good from far but far from good if you look closely.
P O R S C H E PORSCHE GOLD. Very shouty but may be nice. Not my car so Id have the big dual exhaust tips as per above. PORSCHE SILVER. Classic and modern in one. PORSCHE BLACK. A bit too much of Cayenne?
The car is an icon. I don't understand why some feel the need to put
P O R S C H E
in large lettering on the decklid. Of course it's a PORSCHE - just look at it.
I think the large PORSCHE letters were done on factory cars by in-house marketers who were reacting to the nonsense being carried out by other manufacturers. "If you can't see the name of the car from 100 yards away, it's a problem..."
Understated is a far better approach in my opinion. Allow the image of the car to make the statement. It's a powerful one that needs no sophomoric embellishment.
Totally agree. I removed the PORSCHE from my Macan.
So after deliberations with myself i went and ordered matte silver “Carrera” again. Keeping it all standard. But i keep the old badge and will play around with it, black or gold.

Not going to sway anybody's decision ,but here is a sample using close spaced lettering. I have to agree with Ironman that labeling the car is redundant, but in keeping with the few P cars I have in the past, 911 B series and type 540, they had it spelled out on the engine lid. My current one - Basalt black and Fuchs for my old school look.

close spaced looks very nice also!
love seeing all these various decklids! Awesome variety in such small subject! Now I wonder how Ferry Porsche had his.
Ferry's personal 911 was a C series, 1970 911S. The lettering was same as stock on B and C series, Maybe others as well. Wide spacing gold letters. Here is the car....
I am digging the black Carrera on your car. But cant go wrong with the OEM color badge. I was actually considering changing my silver Carrera to black.
Totally agree. I removed the PORSCHE from my Macan.
OP i vote for the silver one.
I removed the PORSCHE from my Macan, too. To me, and not everyone will agree, big letters with the manufacturers name are for the tailgate of a pick-up truck.
The photo of the Meteor Grey Coupe with the old-school black 911 is my car. I purchased a matte-black metal factory 911E badge and removed the E.

My vote would be for a body-color badge.
i contemplated buying the gold carrera from 356 but didnt. Your badge looks good, today i saw a 992 with just 911 badge (new style is bit retro right?). Looks nice.

Thanks. It was my mini-tribute to the 50th anniversary of the 911.
