All,

Quick question----> My front lower Rubber bumper lip split today and dragging on ground from friends low driveway
Found replacement on Sunset Website and ordered--->Looks like a quick "Snap-in" replacement.

mine came off in the middle once from hitting the street. It was hanging loose in the middle but secured on the ends. When it was up on a lift I was able to determine
that on the drivers side it is secured by a torex
screw. First install the many inserts into bumper, there are many, requiring you to stretch the lip to each insert. Then secure with torex screw. Not very difficult. Tried to do it myself after removing entire lip. Found it easier
with four hands, needed synchronized inserting of all the inserts.

Super easy. Several tabs across its length that insert into holes in the front fascia. Slide the whole thing over and then secure with a screw.

Dumb question: which direction (towards driver's side or passenger's side) do you slide or shift it? Also, where is the screw that secures it? When I bought my car, it didn't have one and I bought one from Pelican. I just snapped it into place, but I notice it keeps working it's way out. It fits in the center channel in the front bumper properly, so I'm not sure if I can shift it to the left or the right? If there was a way to secure it into place, that would be helpful.

Looking at the front of the car, the lip slides towards the left (passenger) side and the hole for the screw that secures it is to the right (driver's) side.

when ever you need to replace a part, get the new part and look at it and see the way it is attached and what you have to do to take the old one off

Iceter, do you have a .2 or a .1? I have a .1 and I believe Groovzilla does as well.

I had accidentally purchased the .2 lower lip initially.

.2 Lower Lip

But this is the one that fits the .1

.1 Lower Lip

You can see on the pic of the .2 lower lip, there is a screw hole, but not a screw hole on the lower lip for the .1. On the .1, I think it just pops into place by pushing it into the grooves in the bumper, and there is no screw securing it in place to the best of my knowledge, which probably explains why we loose them so easily on the .1's. LOL

So sorry GIG. In my effort to be helpful I led you astray. When Groove first asked his question I thought he had a .2.

My car is a.2 and you are correct that the lips are different. The earlier one looks like it snaps in and I don't know if it uses any retaining screws. Sorry about that.

Very easy on the 997.2. Currently have the 991 lip. It rubs a tiny bit coming into my garage but hanging in there.

No worries! I just wanted to confirm because I thought I might have overlooked something on mine.
