I have a 2005 Carrera (997.1). From the factory it came with navigation, Bose, single CD and (CDC preparation) but no telephone option. I recently installed a Mr12volt Bluetooth interface. The install was pretty simple and it works well integrating with the PCM. It also allows playing pandora or siriusXM directly from the phone. The operating instructions it came with are sparse and I have not received a response from the manufacturer to my questions. I am trying to find out if I can use any of the buttons on the original radio to answer and hang up the phone. I have tried all of them when I am talking on the phone with no joy. If there is a trick to it I have not been able to figure it out
any help is appreciated.
thanks
Tom
Maybe someone else knows better but from my experience, the only thing I've been able to do is skip forward and backward. I can't even pause, which is annoying but I can live with it because the sound is so much better than an FM transmitter.
Mine works with the phone buttons (above the keypad) to answer an incoming call, end a current call, or start a call if I have a phone number/contact highlighted on the PCM screen. The arrow buttons at bottom of keypad -- shred with #/* -- can be used to go forward/backward between tracks. Easiest way to pause is to just hit the PCM power button, especially since it doesn't need to reboot when turning back on. Just annoying that the screen shuts off at the same time.
It will also call contacts directly, but you have to setup contacts individually in the PCM, using the old school 2005 method (aka the rotary **** and on-screen keyboard) -- no phone book download over bluetooth here. The PCM also has the capability to dictate a text message. Again, cumbersome, but there are pre-populated messages that would be nice to quickly send via the PCM. Sadly this does not seem to work with the Mr. 12 Volt.
