The Check Engine Light (CEL) just came on in my 997.2 GTS manual. oil pressure, coolant and oil temps, and oil level all good. Engine sounds and feels good, transmission sounds and feels good. Car drive perfectly. I am 350 miles from home and have 4 days left out here before I am supposed to drive back. Should I just keep driving the car then bring it to my dealer (car is CPO) or should I get it checked out here (rural area....) before driving home? Given that the car feels and sounds right I am thinking to just keep driving and then go home in 4 days.. Thoughts?

Drop into a local auto parts store and have them read the codes for free (or buy your own scanner for about $20). A *lot* of CELs are for pretty innocuous things. For example, I occasionally get a P0456, which is a "very small EVAP leak," that is so slight no one can find it with a smoke test. It has zero impact on the function of the car in any meaningful way. I just reset it with my scanner until the next time it goes off (sometimes months later). The bigger danger is having your CEL mask a second real problem CEL, which is why I always clear my CELs right away. You can also make the notice go away by pulling back -- or is it pushing forward -- the lower left stalk, but then you have to look at the red exclamation mark instead.
