Here's outside. Not a lot of sunshine right now as it's getting ready to rain. These are MagnaGrafik.
This is a great look.
Combining black finishes with varying degrees of gloss definitely works - your car case in point.
The only thing about satin / matte stone guards that might be an issue for me is over time as they get dinged / nicked / marked up with stones etc (as they are intended to do of course.) With clear I think you tend to not notice that as much as you're looking through the material. Seems like the solid color of the matte finish might tend to make the surface wear more noticeable.
If I had a choice, I would not have put the guards on my car. But when we bought it 2 years ago it didn't have any kind of protective film in that area and it had a lot of road rash. Instead of spending thousands to have both rear quarters repainted, I decided to do this. This covers up the damage and allows me to drive it without worrying about further damage. If I had had it repainted I would have worried about repeating the road rash. I think the guards look really good on red, white or silver cars. I can't say that I think it looks that great on a black car but it's ok and it serves the purpose.
I do like how you cut the stone guard kind of short on the turbo. I'm all for modifying protective stuff to suit your needs. I had a bit of road rash between my factory clear ones and the black running board so I had Auto Supershield extend it to the sill panel. At least on the .2's those parts are meant to be replaced over time, but for the life of me I don't understand why they leave that little body strip exposed. Make sure you have something there, esp if it's a wide body car. If I'm not mistaken I think Petza put the magnetic ones on top of his existing clears. You could maybe do that.
TheTorch gifted me his magnetic ones. I am waiting on the black ones to arrive. I will make my decision on which one that I like the best. If I like the black ones more than the magnetic ones I would like to pay it forward. I’ll send pictures next week when I decide on what one I like the best.
Thank you TheTorch for your generosity. #thisiscool
Does anyone have a photo of an Arctic silver with black guards? I might go that route with the magnetic. I do have a tiny dent under the clear guards that they would cover. Only hesitation is I have a Cocoa Cab top.

looks good with silver wheels.
too much with black wheels, IMO of course.
I added the black Suncoast Porsche stone guards this afternoon. This will have to do to cover up my mistake. What are your thoughts on these black stone guards?
I think they look fine - kind of like the old 930 and 911 turbos. I wonder if gloss black wouldn't look better though - almost invisible, kind of like clear on other colors.
Suntek makes a high gloss black PPF film. It's fairly new from what I understand and not everyone may stock it. On a black car i bet it looks great but anything else I would say the satin/matte finish is the way to go.
