Default 997.1 turbo rear brake air duct question

So my mechanic removed the rear brake air ducts off my .1 turbo so he can install some 19x12 997.1 gt wheels (stock offsets for these wheels). He noticed the rear brake ducts needed to be removed to allow for clearance for the new gt wheels. Are there lower profile brake air ducts I should buy? Or is running no rear brake ducts ok (will probably never track her)? Or should I have him mod the stock ducts so they fit?

Thanks!

Just have him cut a notch into the plastic scoop right in the area where the wheel interferes with it and reinstall. In this photo, mine didn't hit, but when I installed my wider Forgeline wheels it did and that's what I did to keep the brake cooling functionality and not have them scrape. Sorry, don't have a good photo of that setup. Been installed that way for years without issue.
