my 997S, 2 months of ownership
I traded in my 2007 Honda s2000 2 months ago for one of my "dream cars", I'm sure many of us have wanted a 911 since we were young.
The s2000 is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven, it's very engaging and driver focused, the shifter feel is godly.
I was not even planning on buying a 911 yet, it just happened.
I placed my s2000 for sale because I was thinking of getting something else, A local dealer agreed to appraise my car, so I went. The owner ended up giving me a pretty good price for it, but I still wasn't set on selling it to them b/c I could get more if I sold it privately....BUT....there she was, a 2007 997S 6 speed sitting in the showroom, I ended up calling them back and letting him know that I was interested in it.
Pic of the car in the show room:
Went there later that week and did it, I told my wife we needed a car with back seats since we have our first baby on the way lol
Saying goodbye to the s2000 and hello to the 997
I'll be honest, I did miss the s2000 right away, the driving feel, the s2000 felt more raw, louder (road noises, feel, open top), and the buttery transmission....BUT the more I drove the 911, the more I gained appreciation for it, the +115 hp helped too! When you open it up, the noise is wonderful. (the s2000 transmission is still superior), I need to get a short shifter for the 997 eventually.
Went to visit my buddy the same day I got it

At this point, I've already fell in love with the 911 (as an owner), before I just loved it through pictures and videos. So the modding begins.
New wheels...I drooled over BBS CH-R's every time I would see it on a 997, so I got lucky and found a fellow Porsche guy selling them.
Now, I have a vision for what I want my perfect 911 to look like
Today, I installed an OEM Aerokit bumper
Next? Maybe aerokit wing? Although a ducktail is calling my name as well..

Lastly, if you long for more road noise, get a set of these: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...e&autoModClar=
I just did and can't believe the howling and racket they produce brand new. The Michelin PSS's I've been buying over the years were like a silent whisper in comparison.
