I think I'm gonna chicken out and put it on the battery tender today .... it's cold here in Dallas and I don't want the car to murder another (new) battery. Thoughts about the data?

Looks reasonable but why don't you wait until the week is up and the car goes into low-energy mode (switches off listening for the electronic key etc)?
Would be interesting to see whether the curve flattens.

I started my car at freezing temeperatures with 45% battery no problem.

That's good to know. I started worrying when my battery drops below 75%

What is the voltage reading at 45% ?

Good idea, I'll do that. Is it 7 days flat (no pun intended) when it goes into hibernation? I'll have the paddles ready if she starts to flatline.

I think it is pretty much exactly a week, but I could be a day off. My battery voltage was 12.3 when I started it from very cold; cranking power was shown as normal.

So, looks like it loses about 0.05v / day. Interesting.

Day 8 - 12.41V @ 66% - with "low power" shown and now screen is red. I may give in and hook 'er up to the tender today. 16F now going to 8F tonight. Car is in garage but still damn cold.

So for reference, I plugged the car back into the tender on Day 8 (2/14) after the above post. At about 7am on 2/15, we lost power at our house due to the Texas storms. The tender had more or less gotten the battery up to green level by the time power went out and the charging ceased.

During the chaos of the storm situation, I didn't even think about the car or battery. In fact I forgot about the whole darn thing until about an hour ago (2/26). So the car sat roughly 11 days in the garage (a few of which were stupid cold even in the garage) with no charger. Car was locked. The app showed 17% and 12.29V when I first connected the tender. Less than an hour later, it shows 12.31V @ 28%. The battery is thankfully taking a charge. Jumping off the walls with glee that it didn't crater yet another, but that's a heck of a dip (even with the cold) for 11 days. Does this jive with what people see? 11 days idle and the battery is hangin' on for dear life?

I don't think 12.29v is anything to be alarmed about. I don't know how the app calculate % but 17% at 12.29v doesn't make sense to me. I am doing a similar experiment in that I fully charged the battery then unlock/locked my 997 via remote to activate the sleep cycle then let it sit without hooking it up to the charger. I know the first 3 days, the 997 will draw more current then it will settle down. After locking the car, the app reported 100% at 12.69v then almost 24 hours later, it is reporting 73% @ 12.43v. My other car started right up when I leave it for more than 10 days with voltage dropped to 11.6v so I will see where the 997 will be at after at least 4 days. I am willing to let it drop to 11.6v before putting it back on the charger.

Default Battery Tracker

All I can say is that the Battery Tracker® has cured me of my BSDS (Battery Status Derangement Syndrome). My battery is an Interstate MTP-94R/H7 (30-month free replacement warranty), which I replaced in May 2019. As I stated in an earlier post on this topic, I had been reluctant to venture beyond an electric outlet for more than a single overnight because of my lack of knowledge of my battery’s charge level. The Battery Tracker has eliminated that fear.

I generally keep the car on a Battery Tender® whenever it’s home. Last Monday (2/22) I took the car off the charger for an afternoon drive of about 60 miles (the weather in the Gallatin Valley had cleared the main roads of most of the ice and snow). When I returned, I decided not to put it back on the charger to see how the voltage would be affected. Daily checking through the week showed the voltage level was declining very slowly. Four days later (Friday afternoon - 2/26) the weather was good enough for a drive, so I took it out again. But before taking it out I checked the voltage. 12.54V – 88%. The Crank Test on the Battery Tracker application showed it was within standard range.

After returning home I again didn’t put it back on the charger. I’ll continue to check it daily to see how the voltage changes.

FWIW In terms of potential electricity drains I rarely use the radio or the navigation, but automatic air conditioning system and headlights are always in operation. Despite my positive comments please know that I’m not a spokesperson (paid or unpaid) for Antigravity Batteries/Battery Tracker. I’m simply happy that this technology is working for me and has eliminated my primary concern about ownership of this beautiful car.

Hi everyone, just wanted to jump in here to reiterate, so the percentage value is loose, and not based on actual capacity of the battery, but tracks along with the voltage. The voltage itself being the more accurate and important figure to be monitoring.
Best regards,
